My name is Ruth Scott, I own the Dreamforce Kennel located in the NSW hills above Canberra. Supported by my family we show and breed Shih Tzu and currently only do obedience work with our German Spitz Mittel girls. Just like much-loved canine companions everywhere our dogs are pampered family members.
I am a member of DogsNSW and abide by the breeders Code of Conduct.
Our goal in breeding is always to produce offspring for the betterment of the breed. We breed to the Kennel Club (England) breed standard as adopted by the Australian National Kennel Council.
My passion for showing started in dogs with Shih Tzu in 1976 and my love for our two breeds has never waned.
All litters are carefully planned to produce Shih Tzu who match the standard set by the Kennel Club of England. We breed firstly for the future of our kennel; prospective homes for any puppies placed as pets are selected carefully and with full consideration to the future happiness , care and security of our pups.
I love a well-balanced Shih Tzu body and when breeding I place an emphasis on the correct head, T-pot tail set and correct Shih Tzu movement. I also love a pretty face, so an aim in all of my breeding’s is to produce correct big round heads with lovely round black eyes and a sweet expression. And of course, they must also have a beautiful long flowing double coat.
Our dogs live indoors; they sleep in their night pens in our indoor doggy den and their days are spent with us between our living room, kitchen and outdoors. They are fed a premium diet, a mix of dry kibble, raw meat, and raw vegetable and fruit.
Our dogs are DNA tested and are only ever bred after a health check and clearance by our Vet. Our expectant mothers are fed a high-quality diet specifically formulated for nursing mothers and weaning infants. All puppies are born and raised within the house and are monitored 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
Our Shih Tzu are bred from the bloodlines of world famous kennels including Hashanah (now Australian based) Santosha in the UK, Di Casa Corsini in Italy and Wenrick’s in Canada. We will continue to introduce genetic diversity with new bloodlines being introduced in future litters.
The Shih Tzu are devoted to their human families and love to be close to you. They are not an outside dog so if you are not able to have your dog as an inside pet or you are unable to devote sufficient time to their grooming, exercise and health needs they are NOT the breed for you. The Shih Tzu is an excellent companion for families and single persons who have the time to devote to their pet.
